Porchfest is gloriously chaotic: dozens of sets, all overlapping, spread across the Wedge. This works out where you should actually stand, and when.
Every band was researched and rated on ten dimensions, so you can ask for something specific โ "loud, fast and raw" or "quiet enough for a stroller" โ instead of reading 91 bios.
There's an eleventh dial for reputation. Slide Big names up and the route favours the acts with the biggest footprint โ the ones playing First Avenue and the Entry the rest of the year โ or slide it the other way for hidden gems and spend the afternoon on bands nobody has heard yet. Each notable act is badged with the evidence that earned it, so you can see why it's there.
The street grid is baked in, so distances follow actual pavement โ not straight lines through people's back gardens.
It solves for what you can physically reach: every stop fits inside that band's window with time to walk there โ and hits your band count if the clock allows.
Star the friend's band you're obliged to watch and the route is built around it, filling the gaps with things you'll like.
The whole plan packs into the URL. Send it and your friends open the same route and map โ no app, no account.
Export the schedule as .ics and every stop lands in your phone with the address and a one-line description.
Map, data and routing are all in the page. Once it loads it needs nothing โ handy in a crowd on a saturated cell tower.
When you're free, where you're starting and finishing, how long you like to linger at a porch, and how fast you walk.
Ten sliders, each centred on "don't care". Nudge one and the route redraws as you go โ turn country down and those sets fall out of the schedule and off the map immediately. Seek or avoid whole genres, and star any must-sees.
Ask for exactly six, or between three and five, or just "as many as fit". It searches thousands of possible afternoons and keeps the best one that obeys you โ an ordered schedule, walking legs between stops, and a drawn map.
